tiger army

Tiger Army is an American psychobilly band that was formed in 1996 in Berkeley, California
The band played their first show at the famous 924 Gilman Street venue in Berkeley, California, with AFI on March 29, 1996.
After making a name for themselves playing shows throughout the California area alongside AFI
and English psychobilly pioneers The Meteors, they were signed to Chapter Eleven Records.
Tiger Army first entered the studio in the summer of 1996 to record a self-titled vinyl record EP,
now referred to as the Temptation EP. This EP caught the attention of Tim Armstrong, owner of Hellcat Records,
who signed the band. Tiger Army recorded their first full-length, the self-titled Tiger Army,
in January 1999. It was released that October. Stand-up bassist Joel Day left Tiger Army before the band was signed
so the Quakes stand-up bassist Rob Peltier was hired to play on the album.
Band members
Nick 13 (born Kearney Nick Jones 1975 in San Jose, California) is the guitarist, vocalist, and main songwriter of psychobilly band Tiger Army.

Nick 13 grew up listening to his father's 50's rock-and-roll records.
As a teenager, he was introduced to punk rock through skateboarding
and the local straight edge scene. Nick attended Leigh High School and Ukiah High School
with future AFI and Tiger Army stand-up bass player Geoff Kresge,
who left the band in 2004 and then returned in 2008. After High School, Nick 13 attended UC Berkeley. In 1991,
he formed his first band, Influence 13, with Kresge and Jade Puget, now of AFI.
He formed Tiger Army in 1995. The band has released four studio albums,
had a #1 single on L.A.'s KROQ FM and continues to tour internationally.

In recent years, Nick has tried his hand at acting and has appeared in Mary Jane's Not a Virgin Anymore (1997),
Live Freaky! Die Freaky! (2006) as the voice of the TV Reporter #1, and in David Lynch's Inland Empire (2006) as an archaeologist
